Why study Computer Science?
This program offers a good balance of business courses, giving you the opportunity to apply your Computing Science knowledge in any business environment. A strong Computing Science background gives you a better idea of what computing can deliver to business, and also lets you knowledgeably manage the vendors and IT groups.
Why take the BSc Specialization degree?
The Bachelor of Science Specialization degree provides a focused education in one program. You will take most of your courses in your main subject area, and are expected to maintain a higher standard of academic achievement. A Specialization degree can provide the background to help you proceed to a higher degree, but its primary function is to provide a comprehensive education at the undergraduate level.
This program can also be taken as part of a BSc Honors degree.

Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year
It is recommended students have the following Grade 12 subjects in order to complete the required prerequisites to university courses needed for admission to the second year: English Language Arts 30-1; Pure Mathematics 30 or Mathematics 30-1;

Admission Selection: Competitive. Completion of a minimum of ★18 in each preceding Fall/Winter with a minimum GPA of 2.3; plus a minimum 2.3 GPA in all CMPUT courses successfully completed and eligible for transfer.
