Why study Psychology?

Why study Psychology at Augustana?

At Augustana, a degree in Psychology will allow you to become well versed in psychological topics. You will be able to understand and use different worldviews, concepts, language, and major theories of the discipline to account for psychological phenomena. This major also offers the ability to pursue a unique, embedded certificate in Community Mental Health. Through this certificate, you will be trained in the principles of mental health, including psychological well-being and neuropsychological disorders, and learn about the types of interventions that are designed to support those with mental illness.

This major is taken as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree. Psychology can also be taken as part of a Bachelor of Science degree. The BA program does not require the same supporting courses in the other sciences as the BSc program.
