Our BSc in Agricultural/Food Business Management degree allows you to study food science and business simultaneously, setting you up for a variety of careers in the agri-food sector. This program is offered jointly by the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences and the Alberta School of Business. You can participate in the Alberta School of Business Co-op Program as part of this degree.

Alex, from Balzac, is an Agriculture and Resource Economics student, VP Academic of the Agriculture Club, and a member of the UAlberta cheerleading team. Alex also helps out during harvest and calving on her family's mixed farm, and helps run the online side of the business.

Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year. 

Preprofessional study may completed in the BSc in Agriculture program, other Faculty or program, or other postsecondary institution.

Required: A minimum of 24 ( = units of course weight) transferable to the program.

Recommended First Year Courses:

  1. BIOL 107 or BIOL 108 (3)
  2. CHEM 101 and CHEM 261 (6)
  3. ECON 101 and 102 (6)
  4. ENGL (Two of 121, 122, 123, 124, 125 recommended) (6)
  5. MATH 113 or 114 (3)
  6. NU FS 100 (3)
  7. STAT 151 (3)

Admission Selection: Competitive, based on 24. For consideration, you need a minimum 2.3 Admission Grade Point Average.

Alberta Grade 12 Courses:

  1. Biology 30
  2. Chemistry 30
  3. Pure Mathematics 30 or Mathematics 30-1
